What are preserved flowers?
Long-life, also called preserved flowers, are real flowers that have been treated with a special preservation process to maintain their natural appearance and freshness, even long after they have been harvested. There are several methods of preserving flowers, but a common technique is to replace the natural sap and moisture in the flower with a preserving liquid, such as glycerin. Glycerine is also used in food, such as sweets, pastries and margarine. This preserves the structure of the flower and keeps it flexible and lively.
